Bucklands Beach
Want a warm beach just down the road? Bucklands Beach is your spot! Starting off from the Half Moon Bay pier, you can have a lovely stroll along the Tāmaki Estuary, with some awesome views of Rangitoto Island whilst you dip your toes in the water! Finish off the stroll with an ice cream at the local dairy and you’ve got yourself a “choice as” day!
Eastern Beach
On the other side of the East Auckland peninsula another stunning beach – Eastern Beach! Both Bucklands Beach and Eastern Beach are very calm, perfect for a paddle when the tide is in.
Take a leisurely stroll to the fish ‘n’ chip shop and grab a bite to eat while you look out over the ocean towards picturesque Waiheke Island. Just make sure the seagulls don’t try to snag a chip!
Maraetai Beach
If you’re looking for a road trip, Maraetai Beach may be for you! Situated 30 minutes from Pakuranga, Maraetai offers stunning views and a real glimpse into the beachy beauty of Aotearoa! The main attraction is the piers along the beach, which are perfect for jumping from on a hot summer’s day on a high tide!
Waiheke Island
If a destination beach is more your style, then hop on the Half Moon Bay ferry to Waiheke Island in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf! For only $20, you can visit an island of beautiful scenery, beaches, and crisp ocean air! Oneroa and Onetangi are the best Waiheke beaches in our opinion, so get your friends together, jump on a Waiheke Island shuttle, and go exploring!
