On Thursday 29 February Year 13 History students visited MOTAT’s Aviation Hall to learn more about the Lancaster Bomber which was such an important part of the Bomber Command story of World War Two.

We were met at MOTAT by members of the New Zealand Bomber Command Association, led by Chris Newey. Chris and his team did an excellent job of telling the story of the young aircrews who flew the plane and what life was like in wartime England. We were very grateful to them for sharing their insights and in-depth knowledge.
