Track and Field Champs
Last week, three of our athletics superstars were down in Dunedin for the National Track and Field Championships! Jordan Viljoen (Year 11, Kauri Whānau) and Leah Marais (Year 10, Pōhutukawa Whānau) both put in outstanding performances, returning home with gold medals and personal bests! They even won gold together in the U16 Women’s 4x400m relay – what a team!
Marc Patience (Year 10, Pōhutukawa Whānau) also bagged a podium finish in the U16 4x100m relay, finishing 3rd.

Athletics Day 2025
The energy at Athletics Day was next level! It was awesome to see our students out there giving it a go and cheering on their Whānau athletes. An amazing day under sunny skies! Big congratulations to Pōhutukawa Whānau for taking the win! Final results are still being tallied, so stay tuned.
Archery
Congratulations to Year 13 student Alex Street, who recently competed in the NZ Field Archery Bowhunters competition in Whitford, and came out with a 1st place finish in the compound division.
Ultimate Frisbee
Our Girls Ultimate team has been competing in the College Sport Division 1 League, take a look at their results:
- 25 February v EGGs – It was a tight game against Epsom Girls Grammar, but Pakuranga College ended up taking the win with a 9-8 victory!
- 4 March v Selwyn – Selwyn gave our team a fun competition, with a good time had by both teams. In the end, Pakuranga College went home with a win, beating Selwyn 13-2.
Futsal
Cricket
1st XI Cricket
The 1st XI Cricket team scored a 60-run victory over Liston College recently! Playing away, the team put up an impressive total of 7/205, before restricting their opponents to 9/145. A standout performance came from Advik Dhillon, who led the charge with 77 runs.
Junior Boys
Our Junior Boys’ Cricket team shined against Dilworth, scoring an impressive 188/2 and bowling them out for just 100—what a game!
Batting 50
Year 11 Nīkau student, Veronique Koole, put on a stellar performance, smashing an impressive half-century with 53 runs in her recent T20 match for the college.
