Junior Volleyball
Our volleyball teams have enjoyed a successful season this term, with some excellent results from pool play:
- Our Girls’ 1 team came 1st equal in their pool, only losing one game during their season.
- Our Boys’ 1 team came 2nd equal in their pool.
- Our Boys’ 2 team came 2nd in their pool.
Junior Volleyball Championships
We sent our Girls’ 1 and Boys’ 1 teams to the Junior Volleyball Championships at Pulman Park. Our girls’ team did exceptionally well at the tournament, advancing to Division 2, where they outclassed Botany Downs, Saint Kentigern, Glendowie, Epsom Girls’ Grammar, and Diocesan. Our boys’ team also did well, securing wins against Edgewater, Selwyn, and Pukekohe.
Connor Nankivell – Young Sportsperson of the Year Nomination
Congratulations to Connor Nankivell, who has been named as a finalist in College Sport Auckland’s Young Sportsperson of the Year Awards! We wish him all the best for the awards night on 28 November.
Mia Laban – Swimming
Our Senior Sportsperson of the Year, Mia Laban, will represent the Cook Islands at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary next month! Go Mia – we’re cheering you on!
Mischa Marais – Football
Pōhutukawa student, Mischa Marais, has recently played in the U19 National Football Tournament with Fencibles United. Her team made it to the finals, coming home with a sliver medal! In their semi-finals against Taradale AFC, Mischa scored 2 of the 3 goals to put them into the finals. Ka pai!
