Mia Laban Sets Personal Best at World Champs

Star swimmer from Pōhutukawa Whānau, Mia Laban, competed at the Swimming World Championships in Doha, Qatar earlier this month and made some big waves! Representing the Cook Islands, she placed 1st in her heat for the 100m Butterfly and again for the 50m Butterfly, in which she set a personal best, shaving an impressive 0.17 seconds off her time!

Congratulations Mia, we can’t wait to see you in action at Swimming Sports!

Students Compete at Triathlon Championships

Students Margot Schmidt, Liam Dalton, Kianna Chamberlin, and Brian Huang swam, biked, and ran in the College Sport Triathlon Championships last week. They showed awesome comradery and had amazing attitudes throughout the entire event. It was heartwarming to see the boys cross the finish line together.

It was the first time some had taken part in a triathlon, but everyone gave it their all and did the college proud! Awesome effort!

Cricket Wins
Some of our cricket teams have been on fire lately! The girls dominated with scores of 157/86 against Macleans College last week. Meanwhile, the Junior Boys ended their match against Kelston Boys’ High School last week with an impressive 231/76 and 170/94 against Western Springs College this week.
