On Monday 21 October, three groups from our Year 13 Business Studies course attended the Young Enterprise Scheme Regional Awards.

The Young Enterprise Scheme is a programme for Business Studies students to help develop business-worthy ideas and products. Creating and developing products from the start of the year, our students have all been hard at work competing to create the best product.

From our large pool of talented Business Studies students, three groups were selected to go to the regional awards. A big congratulations to Seki Straps, Bag-E Buddies, and yoUVista for being selected.

Over 50 groups from Auckland were at the event, as well as groups from the wider region. Mac from Bag-E Buddies pointed out that “A great part of the experience was seeing what other groups had made, some groups had some really cool ideas.”

Seki Straps received the Excellence Award for Innovation in East Auckland, Bag-E Buddies received the Excellence Award for Sustainability in East Auckland and yoUVista were selected as East Auckland regional finalists and pitched their idea to a panel of judges.

Whilst the year is ending for these Business Studies students, the groups all agree the YES programme was a great first step to becoming entrepreneurs. Congratulations to everyone who received awards at the event!
